Monday Media Blitz

I have to admit it: there are things I'd love to write about but chances are that a lot of those things have already been written by a mind more brilliant than my own.

In my daily search for knowledge and understanding I often come across articles, videos, blogs and other forms of media that move me in some way. I'm overwhelmed by a deluge of good information and I just hate to see it all go to waste. So I've started this page in an effort to catalog all this media, and also so that I can share it with the world. Because, come on, the world needs to know.

If anybody feels there's something I've missed and they'd like to see contributed to the Monday Media Blitz, please feel free to add a link via comment.

What makes this video even more depressing is that it was made in the hopes that Obama would stop the war in the Middle East. Now that he has announced his intentions to further the war in Afghanistan I think this video should be brought to his attention:

Do You Hit Like a Girl?
A great article about why gender stereotypes and generalizations are damaging to our perception of a person's individuality, and how these generalizations facilitate people's (incorrect) perception that the stereotypes are genetic in origin.

Bad Metaphors
Why you can't say you are a slave to your job . . . or to the man . . . or to the system. So there.

Dorothy Parker
I've been told by a few informative friends that if I ever had a former life I must have been Dorothy Parker. Well, I wish they were correct. I may have her twisted sense of humor, but I've got a LOOOONG way to go before I can walk a mile in her shoes. In the meantime, I know she's who I want to be when I grow up.
